MMM was selected by the City of Norfolk to provide basic urban planning, architectural and engineering design, and construction management services for Town Point Park. Town Point Park was constructed in the early to mid-1980’s as a key element in the City’s urban revival. The park covers approximately seven acres along the downtown waterfront. It's bounded on the south by the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River, on the north by Waterside Drive, on the east by Otter Berth, and on the west by NAUTICUS, the National Maritime Center, and the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center. The existing Town Point Park is generally divided into three areas, including an open-air performance venue, a wharf promenade along the river, and interconnecting pathways throughout.

The scope of services includes, but is not limited to: conducting meetings with various City officials, City staff, as well as citizen, community, and business groups; revision of existing master plan documents for the Park as necessary to include revisions to concept plans that may arise as a result of the meetings (for the waterfront, landscaped areas, performance venue, park utilization, and circulation diagrams); production of architectural and engineering design documents to implement the master plan, its revisions, and/or other design improvements; generating probable construction cost estimates throughout the planning and design process; provide quality assurance monitoring and reporting during the preparation of the contract documents; construction administration services; other services as required to ensure the successful planning, design, and construction of the project.
