MMM is
providing on-call waterfront engineering services for the Virginia Port
Authority at Norfolk International Terminals, Newport News Marine Terminal,
and the Portsmouth Marine Terminal. The scope of work includes miscellaneous
task orders, such as condition surveys and inspections, studies, capacity
analysis, rehabilitation, repair, new design, cost estimating, post-construction
inspection, and other waterfront engineering services.
In responding to an emergency work order after a pier collision, the chief engineer of the VPA expressed appreciation to MMM for the “superb efforts to team so quickly after the call came in about the damage… to put together a design and scope of work… to coordinate the prebid meeting… and to solicit two qualified contractors to execute the repairs that will be completed on an emergency basis.”
