Pamunkey Regional Jail Authority

MMM provided architectural, engineering and planning services for the complete design and construction administration of this 288-bed regional jail facility. The facility design also includes 18 classification cells and 12 medical beds. The design allows for future expansion to 384 general-housing beds and is also designed in accordance with ADA requirements, Virginia Department of Corrections and American Corrections Association standards. This 126,000 SF facility has a bed mix for males and females of all classifications.

The Pamunkey Regional Jail includes:

> Full site development of 40 acres surrounding the facility, including roads, walkways, a 250,000-gallon surface water storage tank, wells, an off-site treatment plant upgrade, and 6,100 LF of 12" off-site water main with appurtenances. Utility development also included 4,000 LF of 4" force main.
> Full HVAC and electrical distribution system expansion with reserve capacity for future growth
> Security planning to minimize disruption during next phase expansion construction
> Commercial-level food service and laundry capability
> Computerized booking control
> Vehicle sallyport
> Automated inmate garment retrieval system
> Electronic security with state-of-the-art pneumatic access locking system
> Administrative, staff, and training areas
