provided architectural, engineering, and planning services for the complete
design and construction administration of this 252,000 SF, 596-bed regional
jail facility. In addition to the operational capacity of 596 beds, the
design included 38 classification cells and 20 medical beds with a future
expansion capability to 984 general-housing beds. The project included
dormitory (open housing) modules and masonry cells for one, two, or four
inmates per cell. The facility conformed to all ADA design requirements,
as well as Virginia Department of Corrections and American Corrections
Association standards.
The scope of services included:

of 120 acres, including roads, walkways, 550,000 gallon surface water storage
tanks, wells, an off-site treatment plant upgrade, and three miles of off-site
water sewer force main

growth
