MMM provided engineering services that included permitting and preparation
of construction documents for this ¾-mile project, which included
roadway design, traffic signals, relocation of utilities, design of
storm drains to
replace existing roadside ditches, preparation of right-of-way plats,
permit application for dredging/wetlands, design of a new water main,
dredging of West Neck Creek (Canal #2) to widen and deepen cross section,
plans for a new bridge across navigable West Neck Creek to replace
existing low-rise bridge, signage design, pavement markings, and street
lighting.
The bridge consisted of prestressed concrete slabs for a total length of approximately 120 feet, 14 feet of sidewalk, and 52 feet of roadway. The width of the bridge was 69 feet face-to-face of the railings.
