MMM provided design and construction services for Monticello Avenue from Governor’s Land to Powhatan Parkway at Monticello Avenue extended. The project included 800 feet of curved bridge in wetlands. Elements of the design included roadway design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, structure and bridge design, signing, signals, pavement markings, utility relocation, landscaping, surveying, and geotechnical work. This project also consisted of 3.7 km of two-lane urban minor arterial designed in metric units and a 250-meter bridge, with special design parapet and railing. All of the designs conformed to VDOT, James City County, and Chesapeake Bay preservation standards and guidelines.
