MMM performed a drainage analysis to determine the best location for a new
tide gate in a large canal that outfalls to Long Creek. The firm prepared a report describing
recommended improvements to the drainage system for this 8-block residential/resort
neighborhood near Shore Drive and Great Neck Road. MMM
performed complete topographic surveys and designed detailed drawings
for channel widening, utility adjustments, and tide gate construction.
A subsequent phase included redesign of a large storm water pump station with a revised tide gate to lower flood levels during high tide storm events. This redesign included a new three-quarter mile bike path, slip-lining of a 27-inch clay sewer main, and optional landscaping.
