provided architectural, engineering, and planning services for the complete
design and construction administration of this 288-bed regional jail facility.
The facility design also includes 18 classification cells and 12 medical
beds. The design allows for future expansion to 384 general-housing beds
and is also designed in accordance with ADA requirements as well as Virginia
Department of Corrections and American Corrections Association standards.
This 126,000
SF facility has a bed mix for males and females of all classifications.
The scope of services performed for the Pamunkey Regional Jail included:
> Full site development of 40 acres surrounding the facility, including roads, walkways, a 250,000-gallon surface water storage tank, wells, an off-site treatment plant upgrade, and 6,100 LF of 12” off-site water main with appurtenances. Utility development also included 4,000 LF of 4” force main.
