MMM prepared design plans and specifications for the renovation of Chase Hall, a 387,500 SF primary berthing facility for all cadets and Officer Candidate School (OSC) students who are undergoing academic training at the Academy.

Principal among the work priorities was the pressing need to upgrade all living quarters to achieve a high quality of life, not only for student occupants, but for the academy as well. The project posed special challenges for the academy and the renovation team in undertaking a large-scale renovation that would provide adequate, quality berthing while preserving critical recruitment goals and continued training of the nation’s most elite students. The principal scope of work for this renovation included:

> Telecommunications network access and power upgrades in each berthing room and functional area
> Increased electrical distribution capacity
> Life safety code compliance for fire doors, smoke detection, and emergency lighting
> Installation of a fire protection sprinkler system
> Building utility systems upgrades
