MMM performed the design and construction administration of an 18,000 SF courthouse containing two courtrooms. A key design concern of the project was to make design provisions for a future third courtroom and its associated administrative spaces. The courthouse contains the following spaces: two courtrooms, office spaces for the clerks of the court, jury rooms, judges’ chambers, holding cells, sallyport, records room and general office space.

Initially, a space utilization study for this project was accomplished by another consultant. However, because of funding restrictions and modified space limitations, MMM was commissioned to prepare a new space utilization study. The new master plan was unanimously approved by the board and became the basis for the design phase of the project.
