Bolling Square is a newly developed high end multifamily complex.
The project consisted of a variety of townhouses and apartments that intermingle
as a small community with park-like grounds, including detailed plantings,
intimate spaces, and a landscaped promenade along the banks of the Layfette
River.
MMM project design included all aspects of site plan development, which included a feasibility study to analyze the existing utilities infrastructure to support the development.
The civil site design provided
new water distribution for both domestic and fire usage as well as sanitary
sewer service to the property.
Requirements
for water quality were met through the innovative application of bioretention
and infiltration design, which incorporated native plantings of the area
with stormwater system design. The planting plan was holistic in approach,
taking into account the natural cycle of water. The plan provided both
aesthetic improvements, but also functional improvements for the ecosystem’s
natural root absorption which neutralizes harmful pollutants before they enter the
Chesapeake Bay watershed.
